Trauma Informed Care Modesto
Cricket’s Hope is an individualized, strength-based prevention and healing program for children affected by trauma. Some of the goals of this trauma informed care program in Modesto include:
Improving each child’s emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being.
Relieving the stress and tension of witnessing or being the victim of abuse or addiction.
Teaching children positive ways to handle their anger and pain.
Having fun and feeling safe with loving people who care about them and their future.
One of the most important things you can do for a child who has experienced trauma is to provide caring, safe relationships infused with hope and optimism. Our trauma informed practices teach resilience, the capacity that carries us through challenges, disappointments, loss, and stress.
At Cricket’s House, an amazing “art house” designed for children to create and express themselves, we commit to building caring, trusting bonds of interconnectedness in which we hold them as whole human beings, able to persist and succeed. We also partner with Camp Hope America, a national camping and mentoring initiative in the United States that focuses on children exposed to domestic violence and other trauma. The camp experience is a pivotal experience for children, introducing them, sometimes for the first time, to a world of loving-kindness, respect, and natural beauty. Trauma informed practices break the generational cycle of family violence by offering healing, hope, and resilience to children who have witnessed family violence.
Do you want to give your time, energy, and resources to a trauma informed care program in Modesto where children can share their feelings? A space that promotes healing through the creation of art and inclusion in restorative groups. These are our most vulnerable community members, usually from difficult home situations. You will feel the satisfaction of making a real difference by allowing children the opportunity to explore their feelings, to have a voice. Though some of our volunteers have a background in art, it’s most important to have an open mind and heart, a willingness to look within each child and see who they truly are and what they can become.
